Egads! This needs to be updated!!

oh boy, have I been a lazy blogger!

I promise to start updating here at least once a week, even if my art life is dull dull dull (as it has been :P )
These past two months have been very hectic, with no time for art!!
Well, actually that is not true..
There is always time for art lol
So let me rephrase that - These past two months have been very hectic, and I chose to put my art on hold while we worked on the house and entertained relatives….and played WoW lol

Yah I have been playing lots and lots of WoW…since the last patch I have become addicted again and its only going to get worse when the expansion is released next week…AHHH!! so freakin excited!! lol

The house is definitely coming along nicely - we had the kitchen cosmetically upgraded (meaning new counters, new floor, new backsplash, new paint). No huge demolition, just made it look nicer :) Still need to paint the cabinets and get some furniture though, hehe.

My fabulous sister and her awesome fiance came down for about 10 days at the beginning of October - soo much fun!! Here they are eating a huge turkey leg at the Renaissance festival!!

I am still waiting on a pic they took of David and I in our costumes, but once I get it, I will post it!! hehe

After they left, my parents came down to visit - we had a week break inbetween, which was spent cleaning and getting ready for them :P We had an awesome time with them too!! They helped us a lot in the yard - got about 4 cubic yards of bull rock that we moved about and put in the garden lol but with the 4 of us, it went quite quickly! the front yard looks sooooo good now! and the backyard has a nice start to it :) YAYS for my parents!! hehe

So yah, October was busy
And now its November and I have finally started working on my art again!
WOOHOO!
lol
so here is what i am working on
stage 2, outlining the sketch!

so as you can see, its a fairy taking her wee dragon out for a walk!

I am currently waiting for some special paint to be delivered, so in the meantime I decided to start another illustration! It is my first winter drawing of the year!

it still needs some work before I ink it in, but so far, so good :D
I will be filming the process of this painting too, so within the next few weeks I will have two videos to show ya’ll!! woot!!

okay so thats about it
as I said, not much has been going on in my art world
but now that it was picked up, ill start blogging alot more!

hope ya’ll have a super duper weekend!!

Sad Times

A lot of things have happened since I last posted, and none of them art related.

This past month has been very hard on me and my hubby (and our puppies).
I pains me to say that one of my best friends from my childhood passed away in August… and to make things worse, my wonderful Father-in-law passed away 2 weeks ago.
Both were amazing people who will be sadly missed :(

My loving Father-in-law Feenan Jennings was an amazing man, who lived life to its fullest. He was a wonderful father and a wonderful husband. I hope that when David and I become that old, our love will still be as strong and as beautiful as Feenan and ML’s love is.
And here is a link to a wonderful site that is dedicated to my childhood friend Paige Cameron. The two of us grew apart as time went on, but she was always in my heart, and always will be.
May they both rest in peace, and I hope I will see them in the clearing at the end of the path - I love you both!!! <3<3

We were in Bend that past few weeks, to be with my husband’s family. It all seems like a bad dream. I absolutely LOVE Bend, but I wish we had gone there under better circumstances. Marzipan and Ginger were left at our Vet, since we had to leave at the last minute. We missed hurricane too, but it barely touched our city (thank goodness!).
It feels strange to be back in Texas.
I am glad to be with my doggies again, but I hope to move up to Bend someday soon - it is just so perfect there.

Anywho, now that we are back we have to get the house ready for my family to visit! soo many projects to be completed! busy busy busy!! My awesome sister and her fiance are coming down on Oct. 4th, so we have like two weeks to get ready. Then my parents come down a week after they leave.
As I said, busy busy busy!! hehe

I hope to start my next painting in between all this chaos - don’t know if I will get to film it’s process though……hmmmm

And to finish things off, here is a pic of my gift to Dave for his birthday!!

Isn’t it cute!?! hehe
I got him off Etsy from Bunnywithatoolbelt - the Artist was such a pleasure to work with. She does really funky stuff!!

Little Bo Peep

Well the two Little Bo Peep illustrations are finally done!
YAYS!!!

The video, however, is still in the works - I have to make an intro and I keep putting it off. It is not that I am camera shy…its just that I can’t seem to get the right lighting! Ugh. It is the perfectionist in me that keeps me from choosing the intro clip - lol I think I have recorded like 50 different takes…I am just going to have to bite the bullet and choose one. No more procrastinating!
That being said, I hope to have it up in the next week :D

Little Bo Peep Prints will be up for sale this upcoming week too. They will be sold as a set, however I will list them separately as well (the sheep one is cute just on its own too I think).

I am still debating whether or not to sell the originals….It is hard to part with my artwork - that is why digital media is so much easier for me :P

As you can see, the scanned in paintings are alot brighter than the photo I took holding them. I think I will play around with the colours in photoshop to maybe get them more like the originals.

In other news, I have joined Suzi Blu’s Mixed Media site, and am going to sign up for her online class!! I am super excited!! Come sign up with me and support a wonderful artist HERE

Oh! and I got my haircut - as you can see in the picture. It is a subtle asymmetrical cut and I LOVE it! However, it is alot higher maintenance than I expected - I definitely have to blow dry it and put product in it…and I have to get a flat iron lol….been holding off getting one of those things for years now, but the time has come to buy one :P

Anywho, hope ya’ll are well and I will try to update here more often than once a month lol

Have a super duper weekend tout le monde!

Slow Progress

So I started filming like two weeks ago, but have had a ton of problems!! grrrr
I have had a horrible time with my camera and imovie - imovie HD does not support my camera and imovie 8 sucks. I won’t go into all the details, cause that would take a while lol, but believe me, its been a pain. I think I have finally come up with a method for editing though *fingers crossed*

On top of my editing crisis, I realized after filming a bit of my work, that the table I was using shook like crazy! I never noticed it before since I move alot when painting/drawing, but the camera sure shows it! The footage will totally make you feel sea sick lol. Soooooo, we decided to take a trip to Ikea in Houston and picked up a new table.

Voila!

I am happy that I didnt do a ton of filming before I realized the shaking, but most of the outlining process will be edited out - oh well!

I have not done a ton of painting, even after getting the table - this is all ive done so far

not much eh? I am really happy with it so far though *pats herself on her back* hehe
I am still getting used to having a camera beside me while I paint - I keep on checking to see if I am blocking the view with my hands or head lol. I usually keep my face really close to my work, but I am learning to sit farther back.

I hope to get this part done this week, and then start on the second part next week - with the video up shortly after that.

I will keep ya’ll posted with my (slow) progress!

We are going to see Wall-E tonight, at the midnight showing - sooooo super duper excited!! It is going to be excellent, i know it :D

Have a happy Thursday everyone!
