They were sleeping on our bed hehe - actually Marzi is on David’s pillow lol

Ginger was guarding her Kong, which still had half a cookie in it lol. Marzipan gets those treats out of her Kong in all of like 3 mins….Ginger, on the other hand, finds it impossible to get the cookie out. She holds on to it as long as she can, but in the end Marzi usually finishes it off

Not much to talk about today. David and I are still in full throttle with the Kettlebells and have been doing Bob Greene’s Better Life Diet - we really like it! I am learning how to cook meals! I know, so totally shocking hehe
I baked banana muffins today too, so the house smells very yummy indeed.

I love dogs -I grew up with dogs. The first thing David and I bought when I moved down here to Texas, was Marzipan. I can’t think about living without a dog. They are just the most wonderful animals.
With that said, it breaks my heart when I see dogs not being properly taken care of.
This weekend we had another stray puppy come to our house. I decided to rant about the situation on my Utterz page, which can be heard on the sidebar of this blog. It was a hard weekend, but we did all that we could for the cute doggie.
Her name was Ally and she is a pitbull-mix.

On a happier note, I got some more work done on my new fantasy illustration - I am really liking it! I am playing around with watered-down acrylics and using pencil crayons for shading, but I first outlined it with bottled ink and a calligraphy pen.

I think I am going to paint the tower next - kinda scared because I like how it is turning out and I do not want to mess it up! I have been working on the computer for so long, that I have gotten used to layers and being able to change my colour pallet at any instant lol….still getting used to real materials again.

This afternoon I am baking Raspberry Oatmeal bars - mmmmmm yummy!!
I am totally on a baking kick hehe

Marzipan and Ginger, sitting behind me, wanting to play - the typical afternoon.

“mom, come play with us!! we want to go outsideeee *whine whine whine*” lol

Having them sit there, looking at me with such sad eyes, makes it hard to work. It happens everyday after lunch - David goes back to work, I turn on my music, and they suddenly appear wanting attention. They wait till I want to work. Sometimes it is so totally frustrating lol but how can I say no??

They sooo need to go to the groomers - Marzi got into a mud hole that our friend’s dog dug…ohh my, was she ever dirty! You can’t really tell in these two pics, but she is not her usual white-self lol. I think this weekend we will take them in.

I printed out my first sheet of Art Cards today. I think they look pretty good! Once again my camera skills are the suck, but you can get the idea.

That is Ginger in the corner - she was curious :P.
They are so much brighter in person! Next step is to cut them out and take some good photos of them with thier envelopes. I think I will get David to help me with the pics - he is a good photographer, and with the two of we could try to take the photos outside. Better lighting ftw!

I have been trying to use Twitter, but I am unsure what to do with it. None of my friends in Canada seem to use it, so I am kinda at a loss. So far I just have a few artists that interest me (like Natasha and Suzi) …but because there is no one on there that knows ME, I don’t see the point in updating it. I guess it may be something I will get into once I make more online friends. We will see.
Utterz is still next on my list - I am actually excited about trying it out! I have been browsing people’s pages, and it seems like a real cool community. So yah, definitely going to start that up this week.

On Thursday, David and I go get our hair cut - I am planning on getting into a shorter bob! lol I came down to Texas with long hair, but have since got it cut shorter each time we see Nikki (our hair stylist). I used to have REALLY short hair, like maybe an inch long, back in high school - but got bored with it and started to grow it out again. Now I am back with wanting it really short. Maybe after the appointment I will get some pics together to show my hair over the years. lol could be fun!

This is a good example why the Utterz thing would be a benefit to me - I talk way to much and some people would rather hear it than read it

my goodness, I am exhausted!
three days of driving to get to Oregon, arriving on the third day….lol what were David and I thinking!? Next time, we are definetely taking a plane lol
I was lucky and was able to pass-out every once in a while in the car, but David…he had no such luxury lol my poor husband drove the entire way (I do not have a valid drivers license *ugh*). I am so thankful for him! He is so super awesome <3<3
We listened to our new XM radio and an audio book - the second book in Stephen King’s Dark Tower series. I never read the first one, but there was a pretty good explanation at the beginning. We didn’t finish it, but so far so good! I have never read any of Stephen King’s books, so his writing style is new to me - took me a while to get into. It is pretty graphic, especially in the first part of the book. lol David and I can’t stop saying “Did-a-chick? Dum-a-chum? Dad-a-cham?” It just sounds so funny when the voice actor says it hehe

Anywhooo
I got the coat I wanted (woot!!) in Brown - omg it is sooooo nice!! They have a Columbia outlet here in Bend, so we got the coat for half price! I have never had such a nice coat lol I am in love with it!

Next is to get some boots
I saw these at Macy’s and I totally fell inlove with the brand (J-41), but we came across Earth Shoes at a wonderful store downtown - omg they are AMAZING!! they have a negative heel, meaning your toes are higher than your heel, giving you a better posture. They are so incredibly comfy! I am soooo buying these on Zappos (the store didn’t have my size) - lol forget about the boots! I want new cute walking shoes!! hehe

The other thing on our want list is a Nintendo DS Lite - our niece and nephew each have one and they look like soo much fun! They have super great graphics and tons of games to choose from. Dave and I sooooo want one lol - we are totally still children, I know

Well tonight we are opening gifts, so I will write again later, telling you all what we got.

Joyeux Noel tout le monde!!!!!

This was our mini tree last year We had no funky checkered carpet then, nor did we have Ginger…and it was my first Christmas not with my family.
It was a calm, quiet Christmas.

This year though we are off to Oregon! and depending on my passport, up to Vancouver too!! WOOT
I am soo excited to leave Texas for a wee bit!! We will be driving up, like we did in the summer, but taking a different route due to TONS of snow on the roads. I hope our little mini can handle it!! *fingers crossed*

I sadly do not have any winter clothes though The plan is to get some once we are up in Bend - yays for a new winter coat!! lol I am totally in love with this one from Columbia

However it is a tad bit expensive >.<
And these hand warmers at KitMit.etsy.com are just sooooooo AEWSOME
love love LOVE them hehe

Anywho, it has been quiet/busy here…yah that makes no sense, but it has! I finally finished my secret project *cheers* and my sticker/laminate/magnet maker arrived so I have been playing with that.

Oh!! Last week we had a surprise guest arrive - a very cute, friendly stray dog came to our front door!! We looked at his tags, didn’t see a name, but took him in anyways We fed him and let him play with Marzi and Ginger. They all got along very well hehe He was a very well-behaved dog indeed!

Dave called one of the numbers on the tags, but the people said they had their dogs….his vet was not open either, so we let him stay the night in the kitchen.
The next morning we called the vet and they got intouch with Poncho’s owner (that was his name).
Turns out that Poncho just lived about a block away from us! His owner came and picked him up, said “thanks man” and drove off. lol I doubt if he even realized Poncho was gone! oh well, he must be treated kindly if he was such a nice dog

On a completely different note, Dave and I decided to see Enchanted last Friday. It was brilliant! So totally funny! I recommend it to EVERYONE!!

Alrighty, so I think I am going to level my Shaman now - her name is Blueberries…she is 53…..soon to be 54…..she is my first non-gnome character lol
