I think I said that right…Here! My Lollipop Girl! hehe

So right now I am saying this illustration is done, but for some reason I feel like something is missing…hmmm.

Once again the lighting is poopy
But since I am going to be making a video of my next project, I am going to improve the lighting in this room! So hopefully I will get better pics and post them all again.

I am so totally excited about doing videos! I think I will put them on blip.tv and Viddler - they are my two favourite video platforms right now. I love how you can leave comments on the timeline on Viddler, and blip.tv is just plain cool lol.

Of course I will keep ya’ll updated as to when the first show will be aired!! I update Twitter daily, with what I am doing, so check that out too.

I am also thinking of doing some live art shows too, like on Justin tv - but one thing at a time eh? hehe

A wee bit of progress on my Lollipop/Musical Girl

The pink looks a little purple here, but it is just the bad lighting. I have not yet decided on the colour of the lollipop, so it is still white….I am thinking blue, but have not made up my mind.

This past Wednesday was my Birthday - I am now 24 years old - eek!! It is so crazy how time flys by. I still feel 16 lol!!

I had a very nice relaxing day - David took work off and we went to the mall to exchange a pair of pants that my dear friend Orest sent me (too small for me). I got two brightly coloured polo shirts and a pair of capris from AE instead! Thank you sooo much Oresto!!! hehe
David bought Enchanted for me and made a beautiful card!! Plus I given a pair of white gold, Aquamarine earrings!! Since moving down here, I have let my ear piercings grow over, so with these new studs I will be able to get them re-pierced!! WOOT!
My parents sent me down a pair of Clam Digger Capris, (with subtle blue stipes instead of brown) from Lululemon, as well as a hairband - I LOVE Lululemon!! It is my favourite store!!! My mom also let me know that they opened up a Lulu down in The Woodlands!! AHHHH!!! omg soooo…..

On Saturday we ventured over to The Woodlands, and I spent the Birthday money that I received from my In-Laws, at Lululemon!! lol I bought this sports bra and these crops (the bra is in a bright blue and the pants are black and white stripes, like the Clam Digger 2). I was like a little girl in a candy store! hehe
I also got some more Mineral Veil from Sephora’s Bare Escentuals Line, as well as some Tarte Natural Cheek Stain (I took Natasha Wescoat’s advice - tried it, and LOVED it lol).

Saturday was heavan lol - not only did I get to shop in my favourite stores, but I got to spend the day with my wonderful husband, and it was absolutely perfect outside!!!

So all in all, my birthday rocked!

In art news, David and I are going to work on making a speed-art video, showing how I make my mixed media projects. We just need some editing software lol - nothing too important, eh?
I am excited to do it though! I love watching Natasha Wescoat and Suzi Blu paint, as well as many others on Youtube.

It will be a fun side project!

yes yes, it has been quite a while since my last post!
eek!

this past month has been oddly busy, but not at the same time…been wasting lots of time playing games and fiddling about with other projects. Sadly, not much has been accomplished lol

I do have some pics of a work in progress, as well as two finished illustrations! yays!!

First, here is a photo of my second Musical Illustration, completed

and up-close you can see my needlework

photos are not awesome, but until i get them scanned, this will have to do.

Second, I finally finished my Rapunzel Illustration!! woot! I really like this one - it was lot of fun

i used watered down acrylics, and shaded with pencil crayon.
This is definitely my new favourite way of colouring!!

And last I have a shot of my new mixed media illustration - another Musical girl, this time with a lollipop hehe

I really like working with calligraphy ink and pens for outlining now - works really well, and no smudging!!

I have been posting little tidbits up on my Utterz page, as well as Twittering a bunch, and I have been thinking of starting up a video page! I really like Viddler, but Youtube seems to still has the most users/exposure…so I have not decided yet. The videos would be art ones, probably of me making my wee mixed media pieces. hehe very exciting.

David and I are still doing the kettlebells, and we feel super duper! Once again, I really recommend EVERYONE try it (lol I sound like an informercial, I know :P). My mom bought one and I am sending her the DVD we use - I am very excited for her! yays Mom!!

Alrighty, so I am going to make some more tea, continue painting until David comes home, and then it is time for our kettlebell workout!!

Not much progress with my second musical-girl, but I like where it is going.

can you tell I love stripes and checkers? lol
I really can’t get enough of them!! My house has checkers in almost room - a bench in the foyer, a mirror in the hallway, two red checker carpets in the living room/foyer, and a heart paining in the master bedroom. Actually hearts are a close second. I just love patterns and shapes

I finished another mini-print today. It is a valentine mouse!

I think he is quite sweet hehe.
I know I am way late with putting up these prints. I have not printed on anything bigger than 8.5×11 paper, so I am really scared I am going to mess up and waste a HUGE piece of paper. Silly of me , I know.
I will get over it.

So I know I am not the only artist out there that HAS to listen to music while they work, so I thought I would share a particular music label that I ADORE!! Omg they have some of the best artists, including the Stars, Feist, Los Campesinos!, New Buffalo, Broken Social Scene, and Apostle of Hustle.
They are the one and only Arts & Crafts
and what a perfect name eh?
Everyone should totally check this label out - totally awesome music!! AND its Canadian - woot!!

Oh, and if anyone out there has suggestions for music, please feel free to comment!! I love discovering new bands, especially if they are Canadian and/or indi.
Some other favourties of mine include The Faint, Fischerspooner, The Bird and the Bee, Metric, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The New Pornographers, and Regina Spektor.
I also love Philip Glass - love love LOVE his work.

Righto, so I think I will go do some pilates now, before David gets home.
We have to get a bathroom trash bin that closes, since Ginger constantly pulls things out and eats them….you dont know want to know what she ate today…omg ew. lol

it is done! I had soo much fun working on this piece! There are a few mistakes (like the obvious red smear by the foot) but I still love it. I am unsure whether I am going to sell it or not - I think I will frame it and then decide.

I am working on another musical girl, but trying some different techniques. She is a watercolour drawing that will be pasted on top of the music, instead of drawn on that sheet. The smudge on the first illustration was made from the glue being painted on and overlapping with the pencil crayon, so I will have to try something else - I do NOT want that happening again.

Making these little originals reminds me of being in elementary school - getting to cut and paste and colour with crayons hehe - it is just so much fun!!
I do plan on scanning these in - my pictures are quite poopy lol and I would like everyone to get to see each drawing at its best. Right now it is chilly and rainy outside (suprising, i know!! lol) so my pictures are being taken inside with bad lighting.

David and I went to see Juno last night - and omg it was awesome!! Soooooo funny and brilliant acting. Totally deserves all those rave reviews and hype.
Go see it!!

We have also been working out alot more - the elliptical thing has been put on hold, and instead have been focusing on doing the Kettlebells and Pilates. So far, so good! I am already seeing a difference, yays!!
I have been doing pilates off and on for years now, and I still LOVE it. The main thing I am missing is my Irish Dancing *sighs*. I used to dance alot, but down here I would have to drive like 1.5 hours each way to get to classes….not going to happen. I will just have to wait till we move up to Oregon. It is more popular up on the west coast.

Okey dokey, so I have rambled on here long enough.
I have some vacuuming to do, as well as lots of art to be made!
I think the art will come first.
