Sad Times

A lot of things have happened since I last posted, and none of them art related.

This past month has been very hard on me and my hubby (and our puppies).
I pains me to say that one of my best friends from my childhood passed away in August… and to make things worse, my wonderful Father-in-law passed away 2 weeks ago.
Both were amazing people who will be sadly missed :(

My loving Father-in-law Feenan Jennings was an amazing man, who lived life to its fullest. He was a wonderful father and a wonderful husband. I hope that when David and I become that old, our love will still be as strong and as beautiful as Feenan and ML’s love is.
And here is a link to a wonderful site that is dedicated to my childhood friend Paige Cameron. The two of us grew apart as time went on, but she was always in my heart, and always will be.
May they both rest in peace, and I hope I will see them in the clearing at the end of the path - I love you both!!! <3<3

We were in Bend that past few weeks, to be with my husband’s family. It all seems like a bad dream. I absolutely LOVE Bend, but I wish we had gone there under better circumstances. Marzipan and Ginger were left at our Vet, since we had to leave at the last minute. We missed hurricane too, but it barely touched our city (thank goodness!).
It feels strange to be back in Texas.
I am glad to be with my doggies again, but I hope to move up to Bend someday soon - it is just so perfect there.

Anywho, now that we are back we have to get the house ready for my family to visit! soo many projects to be completed! busy busy busy!! My awesome sister and her fiance are coming down on Oct. 4th, so we have like two weeks to get ready. Then my parents come down a week after they leave.
As I said, busy busy busy!! hehe

I hope to start my next painting in between all this chaos - don’t know if I will get to film it’s process though……hmmmm

And to finish things off, here is a pic of my gift to Dave for his birthday!!

Isn’t it cute!?! hehe
I got him off Etsy from Bunnywithatoolbelt - the Artist was such a pleasure to work with. She does really funky stuff!!

Home again

Well we just got home from our Christmas trip - another 4 days in the car and we are soooo glad to be sleeping in our own bed lol

Christmas was super duper! I was totally spoiled and we had snow! I have not had a white Christmas in years - it was awesome.
We got out Nintendo DS Lite (in white), accompanied by two games which I picked out - Animal Crossing and Rune Factory: Harvest Moon….I am such a girl lol however Zelda and FFXII are on my game wish list.
Dave and ML (his mom) were very sneaky - they went to Zappos and got my Earth Shoes that I had wanted!! Omg they are amazing! It took me a while to get used to the negative heel, but they are soooo comfy. LOVE THEM!!

I also received some very nice clothing, which I picked out - I have not bought clothing for ages it seems, so it was nice.
My parents took the Handmade Pledge (sorta) so we got some an awesome cutting board, some beautiful coasters with a pic of our wedding cake on them, and some art magnets of Vancouver - I was very impressed with my parents gifts.
My sister made us a hilarious scrap book - she wrote a silly story and put together funny scenes…..it is just priceless.
My two brothers gave us some delicious tea and Travel Press mugs - so now we can have tea wherever we may go!! WOOT!
Dave was given a very funny candy holder from his sister - I plan on making a .gif out of it lol you have to see it in motion.
And of course there was my gift to us - Fleece Elf hats!!! hehe they were perfect for the cold weather. YAYS! (the pics we took were not that great, so I will post one later)

We had two wonderful Christmas dinners too - one at Dave’s parent’s house and another out at a nice restaurant (actually it was to celebrates his parent’s anniversary)

(ML took the red out of the eyes, which in turn took out the orange in my pendant)

All in all, it was a fabulous Christmas!! Thank you to everyone!!

After Boxing Day we drove up to Vancouver (yays!) and spent 6 days with my family. It had been a year and a half since I had been back home, and it was sooo good to see everyone!! We had soo much fun! I love Vancouver :D

New Years was a blast - Dave and I went to The Cactus Club for dinner with our friends Orest and Courtney, and then spent the rest of the night with my overly-tipsy family lol it was one hilarious night!! There are some short videos, but I will not embarrass them :P

And then came the looong trip home…..it feels like a weird dream being home again….our vacation just didn’t last long enough! Of course, breaking it up into 4 sections didn’t help lol Next time we are totally going to take a plane.

So now we are back to the old routines.
I am pretty pumped about my art though - I plan on making some Originals this year and really trying to push as hard as I can to get more sales. There are so many things I could do, and sometimes it is a bit overwhelming, but drawing is still going to by my main focus.

After going back to Bend, Oregon, it has renewed my desire to move up there - it is sooo beautiful! So I am trying to fix up the house again! Gotta get it ready to sell incase that perfect job pops up! Another reason to make more art - extra money to buy things!! lol redoing rooms is NOT cheap.

Oh, and of course, weight-loss is on both David’s and my mind.
Back to eating better!!
We are thinking of getting our own Elliptical Machine too - we pay like $50 a month for the gym pass, and we only ever use the Elliptical machines….so why not invest in one? Then I could do my cardio whenever I like :D

I guess the last bit of this blog is more or less stating what my goals are for this new year - Moving, making more art, and getting fit. You know, the usual :P

Anywho, I should get back to work - house needs tidying and art needs to be made!

Plus tea needs to be sipped
mmmmm tea

Bonne Année!!!
